Jessika Kreps Foster - foster flora studio founder
by painting Australian flora & fauna
Jessika is exploring, getting to know & connecting to her new home, new land, latruwita- Tasmnia.
Growing up on a Flower Farm on the outskirts of historical city in Poland made her appreciate two worlds that she combines in her practice:
the natural world & the charm of heritage and history.
After years of search she moved to a place she felt intangible connection with: nipaluna - Hobart.
Her illustrations are a way to express herself by offering you a piece of something magical:
A Little Evolution: From ‘polkafolk’ to ‘fosterflora studio’
Sometimes in life—and in business—we grow into a name that feels more like home. Over the past year my creative practice has deepened, & rooted itself in the things that inspire me most.
With that, Polkafolk Studio has gently blossomed into a new chapter: fosterflora studio
Why Foster?
“Foster” is now part of my own name—Jessika Kreps Foster—
but it also beautifully expresses the heart of what I do.
To foster means *to nurture, encourage growth, and support creativity*. It mirrors the way I approach art: observing, tending, and allowing ideas to grow organically, much like the plants I’m so often drawn to paint.
& why Flora?
Because that’s where my story truly began. I grew up on a flower farm in Poland, surrounded by seasonal rhythms. Moving to Tasmania opened another world of flora—natives I’m continuously learning about and interpreting through my work. Plants have become both my subject and my metaphor: resilience, adaptation, cycles, and quiet beauty.
**Together, Foster Flora feels like the truest reflection of my journey—past, present, and where I’m heading next.
Thank you for being here and growing with me. 🌿
